Dry Run

I couldn't wait any longer, I had to try it out. Not a bad idea, this Pre-90 phase.

I rushed home yesterday evening, put on my new work out gear, laid the weights, bands and stool out, popped the Chest/Back/Ab Ripper X DVD in and pressed PLAY.

What a roller coaster. I went from confidence to frustration to doubt to being annoyed to renewed hope to exhaustion, and a whole lot of WTFs in between. It took me 1.75 hours to finish a video that should've only taken an hour and 15 mins.

By the end of the DVD, I could barely raise my hands to tie my hair. Mmmm, it hurt so goooood.

It's gonna take a while to be able to keep up decently, but I hope it happens soon.

I have to say, I'm totally unimpressed with the Ab Ripper X video. So much effort for so little burn... I may have to add a bit of Ab Jam to the routine...

This Better Work...

A few days before receiving my PX90 in the mail, I was out for dinner with my boyfriend Gary and another couple, Tera and Drew.

Gary wasn’t a big fan of “AS SEEN ON TV” products, so he wasn’t all for the program. The fact that I had a gym membership, about a dozen work out DVDs, enough work out equipment at home to furnish two fitness centers and a bad habit of picking up all kinds of fitness magazines and losing them in the gym before reading them all the way through didn’t help.

See, Gary is one of those guys who does 3 push ups and gets ripped --- immediately. He spends about half the time I do at the gym and gets 7 times the results. Suffice it to say his routine wouldn’t work on my flab, but he still tries to convince me it will.

Although I’d had to work on my weightloss/bodysculpting more than Gary, I wasn’t too far behind. Last year, I had seen my best upper body yet… I had great definition on my arms and back, without getting bulky. Although my waistline still fluctuated a bit, I wasn’t covering up with a towel every time I was in a bikini.

But I wasn’t able to maintain it.

Not only did I eventually lose it, but between having moved, having lost a baby and getting through the holidays, I just haven’t been able to get close to it.

That said, I’m not ridiculously overweight. I just seem to have lost the drive because I’ve tried to get back into it without seeing any results since the end of last summer.

I’m really hoping P90x brings me back to feeling good about getting work outs in. Not just because I want to be in shape for my upcoming trip to Mexico, but so that I don’t hear “I told you so” from the man J

PX90 Peeps

I’m not a blogger. But I figured I’d need an outlet to purge and bitch about the trials and tribulations associated with a new weightloss program --- PX90. I went to teambeachbody.com to see if I could start one there, but the message board is a mess.

Facebook has a few PX90 groups, but I didn’t want people on my list knowing about my new challenge, so hello blogger.com.

I’m hoping I find people on the same path on this site.
